BCEM announced Friday that there are no active cases of COVID-19 in the county as of 6 p.m. that day. There have been six confirmed cases in Blanco County, and all six people have recovered.
JCISD Board Trustees held a regular board meeting on May 11, 2020. Board President Shelly Wenmohs called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. with all board trustees in attendance.

JCISD Superintendent Richard Kolek announced that this Board meeting would be Erin Fasel’s last as JCISD Assistant Superintendent. Fasel will be the new Superintendent of Ganado ISD.
The Community Resource Center (CRC) is introducing a new pilot project to deliver groceries to homebound neighbors. Store to Door is a collaboration between the CRC and Lowe's Market. The pilot program is in Johnson City, with plans to expand to Blanco.
Those interested must register by calling the CRC at (830) 868-0208.

AUSTIN — Testing, sanitizing and emergency food benefits increased as Texas entered its third month of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Notably, Gov. Greg Abbott released a statement concerning an outbreak of the deadly coronavirus in Amarillo, where more than 700 cases were reported on May 16. The report came after the governor's Surge Response Teams conducted site surveys and testing in high-risk areas, including meat-packing facilities in the Amarillo area.

Each of the 94 people who tested at the first mobile COVID-19 testing site in Blanco County came back with negative results, meaning they do not have the virus, the county’s emergency management reported last Friday.
The first mobile testing in the county was held May 2 in Johnson City.
