On Thursday, February 18th, we traveled to Fredericksburg to compete in an all-day tournament against the area’s finest tennis programs including Dripping Springs, Mason, Fredericksburg, Kerrville Tivy, and Llano, and other school in and out of our district. The Johnson City Eagles traveled to Seguin last Tuesday to face the highly ranked Flatonia Bulldogs and gave the dogs a fight they will remember. The Eagles came into the game with a 20-8 record and a third place finish in district play. Coach Lewis Jenkins had the Eagles prepared to face a tough Bulldog squad and matched the Dogs basket for basket early in the first quarter.
The Johnson City Board of Education met on November 9, 2015 for their regularly scheduled meeting with all members present. The first item discussed was the construction report from the stadium contractors. The contractors said that the majority of the site work was complete, concrete forms are in for the concession stand and field house and the work completed to date has passed all inspections.

The first discussion item on the agenda was the transfer of funds from one budget line item to another to purchase a motor grader. The transfer was for $13,710, unused funds that came from money that the county provided to the Probation Office in the amount of $13,000.
For LBJ High Schooler Kaitlyn Arvesen, the Eagles shutting out Sabinal wasn't the most exciting part of this past Friday night's football game. Arvesen was presented her State Winning banner for State Solo and Ensemble Outstanding Clarinet Performer which will be proudly displayed at the High School along with the other State victories LBJHS has recieved throughout the years. The JCISD School Board met on October 12, 2015 for their regularly scheduled meeting with all members present. House Bill 2610 has altered the way school districts tabulate required class time for Texas students by measuring the student's time in minutes instead of days. JCISD currently has scheduled class time that exceeds the required number of minutes which is 75,600 minutes per year and results in changes to the current calendar.
County Clerk, Laura Walla, reminds Voters that the Early Voting Period for the upcoming November 3, 2015 Special "Joint" Elections in Blanco County begins on Monday, October 19 and will run through Friday, October 30. Registered Voters will vote FOR or AGAINST the seven (7) Texas Constitutional Amendments submitted by the 84th Legislative Session AND the one (1) Bond Proposition submitted by the Blanco County Emergency Services District #1 and #2.
