Pedernales Electric Cooperative is inviting members to a forum to learn more about this year’s PEC Board of Directors candidates. The forum will be held Thursday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. at PEC headquarters, 201 S. Ave. F in Johnson City. PEC plans to announce the official slate of candidates running for the Co-op’s Board on April 18.
The Johnson City ISD is asking parents with children preparing for Kindergarten to attend the Kindergarten Round-Up on Wednesday, April 20 from 4:30-6:00 pm at the LBJ Elementary School. The school staff will conduct a brief, informal assessment regarding your child’s current skill level with the following items: letter and sound identification, counting, shapes and colors.
The Johnson City track team did something that had not been done since the Nixon administration, the Eagles won the Track District Championship. The Eagles took a 2 point lead into the final race and ran a mile relay race that will be remembered for a long time. Morgan Lindsey and Sylvester Quinonez ran the first 2 legs and kept the race very close, then Brett Harris took the baton and ran an amazing leg giving the Eagles the lead.
Blanco County Master Gardeners will present their annual plant sale on Saturday, April 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park in Johnson City.
