1929-2017
Bob Wesley Dobie of Blanco passed into the arms of his Lord July 20, 2017 at the age of 87 in Fredericksburg, TX.  Bob was born to Burdette and Emma Hogan Dobie on September 29, 1929 in Wimberley, Texas and was one of eight siblings. Bob served his country in the US Army during the Korean War as a Sergeant stationed in Japan and fought in Korea.
Sept 1, 1922-June 23,2017 Dorothy Clay Dale Speake died on June 23, 2017. She has joined her husband, Sterling Speak, her two sisters, Hazel Ball and Jean Manes, and her parents Elmer and Jane Dale in Heaven and is with the Lord God. Born on September 1, 1922, Clay attended the University of Texas at Austin and served the Army Air Corp during World War II in a civilian capacity. Clay, who was named after her father’s friend, was married to Sterling Speake for 34 years.
On Monday, July 24, 2017, Anna Lou Felps of Johnson City entered eternal life in heaven at the astounding age of 101. Anna Lou was born June 1, 1916 on a small family farm along Miller Creek in Blanco County. She attended the local school until she was old enough to work in the fields to help support her family.
Clara S. Wittig was called home to be with our Lord on October 25, 2016 in Seguin, Texas at the age of 91. She was born in Llano, Texas on June 22, 1925. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Chester A. Wittig; parents, Rudolph and Lydia Schoerlemmer; sisters, Emilie Schoerlemmer, Emma Marie Schoerlemmer and Esther Schoerlemmer; brother, Reynold Schoerlemmer and daughter, Kathryn Williams.
Anna Josephine Phipps, 96 of Katy, Texas and formerly of Blanco, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015. Viewing will be from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Friday, October 18th, with services being held on Saturday, October 19, 2015 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Chapel in Blanco, Texas. Burial will follow in Blanco Cemetery in Blanco Texas under the direction of Crofts – Crow Funeral Home, Blanco, Texas.
Ted "Teddy" Morris Keeling, age 79, of La Marque, Texas, passed away on June 26th, 2015 peacefully in his sleep from cancer. The Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00PM August 8, 2015 at Mercer Street Dancehall in Dripping Springs, TX Ted was born to Aubrey Alvin and Webby Calk Keeling in Austin, TX on July 24, 1935. Ted spent his younger years serving in the Army in Panama during the Korean Conflict and then later in Germany.
Zachary Neil Jones born July 4, 1972 passed away in the flood waters of the Blanco River in Blanco, Texas on May 23, 2015. Zac is proceeded in death by both parents, Morris "Sunny" Neil and Barbara Elaine Jones of Victoria and grandparents James E. "Papaw" Rankin from Navajo Dam, New Mexico and Ruth "Nana"
Angela Babette Manuel Carleton of Spring Branch, Texas moved from this life to her eternal home on Sunday, May 24, 2015 after a long illness. Angie was born in Arkansas City, Kansas on May 15, 1964 to Sonny and Joy Manuel. Her life was dedicated to serving hurting children who needed loving foster and adoptive homes. Angie earned her BA in Religious Education from Dallas Baptist University, and her MA in Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Capt. James Michael "Mike" Buck of Rockport, Texas passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, May 14, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Tx. at the age of 67. Mike was born to Varner and Lois Buck on October 04, 1947 in Gaines County, TX. In 1970 he graduated from the Police Academy and became a Commissioned Peace Officer for North Las Vegas, Nevada and a body guard in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Albert N. Turner, Jr. passed away May 13, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a long time resident of Blanco, TX, a proud U.S. Marine veteran, vocational nurse, 'That Other Guy,' jack of all trades and a friend to all. He rarely met a stranger, always there to lend a helping hand for those in need.
