A man was praying with his wife. He prayed a prayer his wife had heard many times before. “Lord, take the cobwebs out of my life.” Just as he said this the wife interrupted, “Kill the spider, Lord.” Many times we ask the Lord to forgive us of some sin, yet we leave the source of temptation in our life.
Ash Wednesday begins the Season of Lent within the church calendar. Lent is forty days long, not counting Sundays, leading up to Easter. The purpose of Lent is to prepare the believer, through prayer, repentance, Bible reading and self-denial, for the coming of Easter. Sometimes numbers have a symbolic meaning for our faith.
The book of Daniel is a must read. There’s so much encouragement in it! For example, in Chapter 9, near the end of the chapter, Daniel is praying for mercy for himself and his nation, and fasting for 21 days, and is given a vision of the end times, which explains to me, what is the 7 year tribulation, and return of Christ.
Have you ever noticed that Jesus often accompanied His teaching with the words, “the one who has ears to hear, let him hear?” Is it possible that there can be some people who could actually sit at the feet of Jesus, the Almighty God in human form, and not be able to actually hear with understanding the words that He was speaking to them?

Have you made New Year’s Resolutions? American adults – 40-45 percent of American adult make one or more resolutions each year.
In our desire to please God we must discern between good and evil. Evil has not always existed, but good has always existed, for God is eternal and He is good. Good existed before evil and only good will exist after the destruction of the devil and his works, but certainly today there is a present spiritual battle between good and evil.
Let us consider seven questions to ask in discerning between good and evil.
A wife asked her husband to change the baby’s diaper stating that she was really busy at the moment. The husband stated that he was also extremely busy and would do it next time. When the time came again the wife said, “the baby needs to be changed, and you said you would do it next time”.
