The 7th & 8th grade Mason JH track teams competed in the Ballinger Bearcat Relays on Friday, March 2. Our girls competed well against several larger schools. Our 7th grade team finished 4th overall, and our 8th grade team finished 2nd overall. Event results are as follows:

The Mason Cowgirls capped off a record setting year at the state tournament in San Antonio this past weekend. The Cowgirls set the single season total win record with 33 wins and made Mason High School history by winning the Class 2A Region IV Championship and qualifying to play in the UIL State Basketball Tournament.
Mason County 4H member, Clint Lane traveled to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to compete in the Young Guns Sporting Clays Championship. More than 464 youth shooters from all across Texas shot 100 clay birds on Saturday, February 24, trying to qualify to shoot the Finals, held on Sunday, February 25.

The next meeting of the local unit of TRTA is Thursday, March 1, beginning at 11 A.M., at the Menard Community Center. The meeting will include a covered-dish luncheon after the business meeting and program. An interesting program about the Menard Presidio will be presented.
