Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for 14-to-18 year olds in the U.S. In fact, in 2013, there were 2,614 teen (15-to-19 year old) passenger vehicle drivers involved in fatal crashes, where an estimated 130,000 were injured. Yet, a recent survey shows that only 25 percent of parents have had a serious talk with their kids about the key components of driving.
The Llano 9th grade and JV football teams have each had a successful start to the season as they traveled to Salado this last week with both teams bringing home victories. The freshman record currently stands at 4-2 with victories over Brady, Sonora JV, San Angelo Lakeview and Salado. The JV record is currently also at 4-2 as they have defeated Brady, Bangs, San Angelo Lakeview and Salado.
To the Jackets’ credit, they absolutely never quit. Their resolve to rally was the reason they turned what would have been a bad setback into a 27-24, Homecoming victory over winless Salado.

SB 7 was passed in response to a 1992 Texas Supreme Court ruling that the Legislature needed to create a new school finance system in order to comply with the constitutional provision for an “efficient system of public free schools.” Since property-poor school districts had fought for funding equity amongst sch ...

Taking pride in one’s school is important, but what exactly is it? Whatever it may be, students demonstrate pride in their school in various ways. Even though the origins of spirit are unknown, students continue to feel the need to show pride towards their school. Illustrations of pride can be seen in numerous places within school life such as: participation in spirit activities, wearing school colors, and representing one’s school through team sports.
