Mason’s 7th & 8th Girls Track teams competed in a dual meet with San Saba on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. The 7th & 8th girls competed in one division against each other. The Puncher and Cowgirl golf team’s preseason has come to an end. For the most part, we have had a mild spring but the wind has been something else. Of the 7 preseason tournaments we participated in, 6 tournaments dealt with higher than average winds. But, that is the nature of the beast during the spring months.

The Mason JH track & field teams competed in the Harper JH Track Meet on Friday, March 18. Due to bad weather, the track meet ended up being canceled after completing only nine events. Grace Christian students recently competed in ACE Regional Leadership Convention held in Palacios, Texas. Placing are as follows; Randee Renfroe placed 5th in Spelling, 4th in essay writing. The Heart of Texas High School Music Festival (HOT High School Music Fest) will be hosting Grammy Award-winning, fiddle player Jason Roberts (formerly 18 years with Asleep at the Wheel) as front man for the Jason Roberts Band on Saturday, April 16th at Wau-Ban-See Ranch in Camp San Saba. Mason High School’s performance of scenes from You Can’t Take It With You won District 27-2A on March 19 and will travel to Bidistrict contest, comprised of 2A Districts 27 and 29, in Kerrville on April 1, 2016. A panel of three judges ranked Mason’s play 1, 1, 1. Besides some important areas to improve the performance, all three gave positive remarks.
