"P" is for PECANS. Our neighboring county, San Saba, which was created by the State the same day as Llano County on February 1, 1856, is known as the "Pecan Capital of Texas."
Virginia Ball, 88, of Tow, Texas died peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
She was the daughter of Alva and Bessie Ellington of Jackson, Tennessee. Virginia was a devoted wife to Rufus Harvey Ball and mother to son Harold Glen Ball and daughter Patricia Ann Luce. She will be dearly missed by them as well as daughter-in-law, Diana Ball and son-in-law Daniel Luce.

"S" is for SALT. Salt is an essential element needed to maintain a healthy body. We take it for granted today, but truthfully, it's not that easy to come by.
A visit to my doctor launched him on a search to find the reason for a feeling of heaviness in my chest. Thankfully, I passed the electrocardiogram with flying colors, but that was just the beginning. I was then scheduled for an echocardiogram and stress test.
Life is filled with stress tests so we must learn how to handle them.
I had the advantage of knowing the date and time of my stress test appointment.
I am of the opinion that standing in line is not a career although I have been so employed most of my life. If it is a career, I am not applying for any employment.
This past week I had this brought to my attention in an interesting manner. I had ordered a printing job at Staples and went in to pick it up.

LIBERTY HILL—Three throwers were especially impressive for Llano High in the 25-4A Meet, April 16. All won gold medals and hope to go the distance again at Area, April 23.

LIBERTY HILL—Grayson Freeman had some 20 hours to think about the loss in the 3200 meters to the "cannot shake this guy" Drew Kiser of Burnet. He now has a lifetime to think about beating him in the 1600 the following day.
This was the final individual competition of the District 25-4A Meet, April 16, and it was a beauty.
Two buses pulled up in fron of the Llano Fire Station Saturday night and disgorged 70 hungry tourists looking to partake of a fish and barbecue dinner.
About two hundred diners in the fire station at the time were startled to see them. It was the "mystery tour" of the Garland Senior Center.
I am the Music Director at Grace Gathering Church and have been involved with many organizations and church-related works in Llano throughout the years. I am a graduate from Llano High School, I married Don Simpson in 1978, we have three children and two grandchildren.
I have worked a lifetime in Llano with part and full-time jobs while raising a family.
