BANDERA—It was a fast and furious first quarter. The Jackets had a couple of trick plays and gained command. It was one after another—literally—and Llano owned an 8-0 advantage. The Friday the 13th bi-district contest was 17 seconds old. 47 minutes and 43 seconds later, the Jackets held aloft a gold football after a convincing 42-26 victory over Crystal City, the school’s first gridiron playoff win since 2008. “We thought we had a big shot at that play,” a beaming head coach Craig S ...
NEW YORK & LAKEWAY—This begins as a sports’ story, but that won’t take long. Jack Crabb is the son of John and Kimberley Crabb of Lakeway, and I’m Kim’s dad. John and I are huge sports fans, so we had plans for Jack a few hours—maybe a few days—after October 24, 2002. He did try.

The majestic two-story home of early Llano County leader, Robert F. (Bob) Rowntree, located approximately 20 miles from the town of Llano on RR2323, is one of few structures in the county that adequately reflects Nineteenth Century architecture at its finest. Its construction stands as a reminder that an area of Texas that had long been part of the wild, untamed frontier had come to an end.
I lost quite a few things in life, but weight has not been one of them. I see these commercials on TV where people lost tons of weight and invite me to join their program. Investigating some of the programs I discovered all you really lose is money every month. If there is one thing I do not want to lose it is money. I never took losing weight very serious.

Reasons for our anger range from the fear of another terrorist attack, becoming the victim of a violent crime or to what some see as the maddening loss of the American dream. Anger is a dangerous emotion that affects every area of life; some being more serious than others.
