Johnson City City Council members held a special meeting on August 25, and Mayor Rhonda Stell called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. via Zoom teleconferencing. A quorum was established with all members present. There were no public comments.
There was discussion to approve Resolution #R20-041 approving Mayor Stell and Mayor Pro-Tem Patricia Dildine to be listed on the TexPool accounts in accordance with the investment policy.

Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department (JCVFD) held a Business Meeting on August 26, and President Ray Bible called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. A quorum was established, and there were no public comments.
Bible reported, “We had 36 calls for July, with an average response time of 6.0 and 3.19 responders.
Kinder Morgan presented a donation of $48,000 to the Blanco County Sheriff’s office on Wednesday that will in part help with logistics for Lights Spectacular and other ongoing projects. The donation was presented at the Bill Elsbury Law Enforcement Center at 400 US-281 in Johnson City. Previously I have written about the fact that which plants deer will eat depends largely on how many deer are in the area and what else there is to eat. I don’t like to use the terms “deer-proof” or “deer-resistant”, because these terms imply that the plant is unlikely to be eaten wherever it is found, which might not be true.
Law enforcement agencies were called to an area near Chimney Valley Road outside of Blanco Tuesday morning after a suspicious device was found near a portion of the Kinder Mogan Permian Highway Pipeline.
A call to local agencies went out shortly after 9 a.m. when officials with the Blanco Police Department and Blanco Volunteer Fire Department were called to the scene.
A message was sent out to local residents through the county’s alert system before 10 a.m.
The Rotary Club of Blanco County is holding a Zoom meeting on September 8th at 12 p.m. The guest speaker will be April Samson, Executive Director of Bamberger Ranch.
Many Blanco County children have gone to Bamberger Ranch on field trips to learn about environmental issues as clearing the land, walking hikes through the ranch to see native trees, and animals, water cleaning methods, lessons on snakes and other animal topics in reference to living in Texas.
