The West has long symbolized the romance of the American Frontier, embodying the pioneer spirit and trail-blazing ingenuity. This idea drove a small group of women to form an organization to promote art made by women in a traditionally male dominated field. Women Artists of the West was born in California in 1971 and is currently the oldest women’s juried art organization in the country.

Herzlich Willkommen! It’s a Texas German celebration at Christmas time on the old downtown streets of Tomball, Texas, and listed number three *3 of 12 magical German Christmas Markets in the entire USA.
When you hear someone say, “There’s always something going on in that little town of Wimberley,” they’re not exagerating. Whether it be a festival, art and craft show, home tour, a play at one of three theaters, concert, rodeo, market day, duck race, Mardi Gras, crawfish boil, chili or gumbo cookoff, pie social, a movie at an outdooor theatre, holiday celebration or fundraiser you’d be hardpressed to find a weekend without something happening here.

The Back Porch café is just like the back porch you always wanted.
It has a simple beauty with its wooden tables and benches, floors and back wall. It gives you the option of dining under a roof or on the creek bank. Both areas are open and overlook one of the most scenic areas of Cypress Creek where people now often float, paddle, fish or swim.
There’s really no doubt that barbecue is best served in the greatest place on Earth – the Texas Hill Country, of course!
It would take lots and lots of road trips to be able to sample some from every single restaurant serving up the smoky, juicy good stuff, but that’s a challenge I’d be willing to take!
