Getting the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is just as important as having the first dose, according to James Partin, M.D., Internal Medicine, Chief Medical Officer for Hill Country Memorial. That’s because the immunity nearly doubles after receiving both doses. “With the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, you probably have at best 50% immunity from the first dose by the second week after getting it,” Partin explained.

It’s no mistake that artists seek out the highland lakes area for inspiration alongside a peaceful annual reprieve at Paint the Town. The much-anticipated event that centers around a Plein Air competition will reemerge in May 2021 after a sorely missed absence in 2020. The winning artists from 2019, will exhibit an impressive display of creative arts to the Texas Hill Country with canvas, oils, and conversations. So far, seven of the 16 board members of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas have resigned. CEO Bill Magness defended ERCOT’s decision to order widespread blackouts while testifying before a joint hearing of two state House committees last week.  Meanwhile, the Public Utility Commission, which oversees ERCOT, says it has opened an investigation ...
