Lady Eagle volleyball regained their momentum Friday September 2 against Llano and against Lampasas on Tuesday, September 6, defeating both teams on their home court in Johnson City.
During Friday’s game the Varsity Eagles took down the Llano Yellowjackets in three sets. Kill leader for the night was Skylar McKennis with 17 kills.
The Johnson City Eagles traveled to Mason Friday night. The Punchers were still stinging from their loss the previous week to Goldthwaite and wanted to take out their anger on someone; and unfortunately it was the Eagles. The Lady Eagle 7th grade volleyball A-team started their season with a tight game against Lago Vista. For most of the girls, this was their first volleyball game. They started off a little rough in the first game with a loss.
At a special meeting of the Johnson City School Board on August 29, 2016 the new budget and tax rate for the 2016-2017 fiscal year was adopted. After an hour of going over the details and figures they have been discussing for months a total budget amount of $9,923,811.12 was approved with a budgeted deficit of $358,124.12.
The Johnson City Eagles traveled to Leakey Friday night to officially start the Chris Cloninger era as the new head Football coach. The Eagles’ high octane offense did well scoring several times, but was not hitting on all cylinders yet. Coach Cloninger was pleased with the Eagles’ effort and hustle, but knows there is still much work to be done.
The City Council held a special meeting on Thursday, August 11 to discuss the general and system budgets with special focus on funding for Old Annex Office Solutions, the Johnson City visitor’s center and police department.
