Three Mason County students recently returned from a leadership conference that has them well on their way to success. John Benefield and Julie Mae Drazan represented Mason County Farm Bureau at Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) 54th annual Youth Leadership Conference (YLC). “YLC is more than a conference or camp,” Shannon Worrell, Mason County Farm Bureau president, said.
Mason’s 9-10 year-old baseball season concluded last week with a 3rd place finish in District. For the season they earned a Championship at Mason’s Tournament (see picture), Runner-up at Llano’s Tournament and 3rd Place at both the Burnet and District Tournaments. Competition included: Burnet, Boerne, Bulverde, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Brady, Llano, San Saba and Hamilton. Let’s learn about cells, DNA, and animals like in Where the Wild Things Are! Wednesday, July 5th will be the first Science Fun Day at the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library, 410 Post Hill St. The activities will be appropriate for children in grades K-5. The fun will begin at 10:00 A.M.
WICHITA FALLS, Texas (June 27, 2017) - Brooke Rosber of Mason, graduated from Midwestern State University in May 2017. Midwestern State University had 442 undergraduate and graduate students who were awarded degrees in May 2017. Honor graduates receiving bachelor’s degrees included 42 summa cum laude, 64 magna cum laude, and 92 cum laude.

June 4th-10th, the Texas high school rodeo finals were held in Abilene Texas. Texas is so large it has to be divided into 10 regions which host 12 rodeos throughout the year. Each region sends their top 10 competitors in each event for the state competition. Each event has 100 contestants fighting it out to represent Texas at nationals. At state, they had two go-rounds and a finals to complete competition.
