Queen's Court Wins Award at First Parade

The Mason County Queen’s Court attended their first parade last weekend in Junction, Texas! Round Up Queen O’Brien Underwood, Duchess Esme Lugo, and Duchess Eliza Cope won second place riding on the Chamber of Commerce float at the Summer Classic Bull Riding Parade Saturday, August 14th. Their float focuses on enjoying the beautiful wildlife in Mason... a natural destination for visitors!

These lovely young women worked very hard leading up to their parade season, not only on their float but their chosen cause. The 2021 court’s chosen cause is raising funds for “Rebuilding the Courthouse,” and had a wonderful start raising over $3000 at their bake sale August 7th! Thank you very much to all our generous organizations and locals who showed their support by supplying baked goods and donating! Half of the bake sale funds go towards Queens Court operations and half will go into the Courthouse fund. Accounts are available for anyone interested in donating directly to the Queen’s Court or their cause at Mason Bank.

The girls will be representing Mason County again this weekend at the Blanco County Fair, August 21st. Wish them luck if they are seen around the square this week as they campaign for parade sponsors! All float sponsors are featured in a parade write up, on social media and the Mason County News as thanks for supporting these young leaders.
