The Mason High School boys and girls varsity cross country teams will open up their 2021 season in less than a month as the Punchers and Cowgirls unveiled their meet schedule earlier this week.

After early morning practice throughout the month of August, Mason will have its first official meet of the year on Wednesday, Aug. 25 in Eldorado.

Mason will compete in five more meets during the next month: Sept. 1 at Fredericksburg, Sept. 11 at Harper, Sept. 15 at Junction, Sept. 20 at San Saba, and Sept. 29 at Llano.

Following the annual meet hosted by Mason at Comanche Creek Golf Course, the Punchers and Cowgirls will take part in the District 29-2A meet held at San Saba River Golf Course. Teams competing will be Mason, San Saba High School, Center Point High School, Goldthwaite High School, Harper High School, Johnson City High School, Junction High School, and Live Oak Academy.

This year’s 2A Region IV meet will be on Oct. 25 at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and the 2A State Championship meet will be on Nov. 6 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

Start times are still to be determined and meet dates are subject to change.
