National Weather Service Enhances Communication
The National Weather Service (NWS) issues Severe Thunderstorm Warnings (SVRs) when a severe storm is happening or imminent, letting the public know it’s time to act, ideally to take shelter. These warnings are “Impact-Based,” focusing on the expected storm impacts, to allow for more precise communication and recommended actions.
