Rumbaugh Honors Life of Dewey Stockbridge with Carving Tribute
Michael Rumbaugh recently donated a carving he helped create to the Comanche Creek Golf Course in memory of Dewey Stockbridge. Pictured left to right are Dewey’s parents, Randy and Connie Stockbridge, and Michael Rumbaugh. The carving is depiction of a Bighorn Sheep and features symbols representing important times in Dewey’s life.
“Hear my voice rise across the desert, my heartbeat echo for miles afar. Across the mountains and upon the sturdy shoulders of the Bighorn Sheep who carry me upwards, into their secret places. I am here.” This past August 2020; a young pioneer of conservation was lost not only to his beloved family, but to his community and to the world of preservation in Texas.
