Correction to Jail History
A sharp eyed reader found an error in the listing of Mason County Sheriffs in the history of the Mason County Jail, as published in last week's Hunters' & Visitors' Guide. Francis Kettner was sheriff from May 1861 to August 1862. There is documentation from Stella Gipson Polk’s book, Mason and Mason County: A History that has as a source Kathryn Buford Eilers, B.A and her book A History of Mason County, Texas Thesis Aug.
