2021 Chamber’s annual community awards distributed
2020 Citizen of the Year, Dr. Jack Franklin (center), with Congressman August Lee Pfluger II (left) and Llano Chamber Executive Director Briley Mitchell after receiving his well deserved plaque. The Citizen of the Year award is given to someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty. With everyone masked up, as the Congressman walked up to Dr. Franklin to present his award, Dr. Franklin clarified, “Are you who I think you are?” Congressman Pfluger simply said, “Yes I am.” Congratulations, Dr. Franklin!
On Monday, January 25, 2021, the Llano Chamber of Commerce began visiting schools and businesses via the Llano Chamber Surprise Patrol, to deliver the Chamber’s annual community awards. The awards, normally given during the Annual Chamber banquet, were instead given “Publisher’s Clearing House” style, because of COVID-19. Llano Executive Director Briley Mitchell said, “It was a challenge to keep everything under wraps and not let anyone know who won before the announcement.
