Birck named 2018 Cowboy of the Year
George Birck was honored Saturday night as the 2018 Cowboy of the Year at the 68th annual Hill Country Livestock Raisers Association Banquet. He is pictured with Darrell Templeton.

George Birck was named the 2018 Cowboy of the Year on Saturday at the Hill Country Livestock Raisers Association’s annual banquet. Birck was born July 11, 1939 to Christian and Lydia Birck at home in Round Mountain. George grew up helping out around the home. As a small kid his chores where to milk the cow, gather the eggs and chop kindling for the wood stove that was cooked on and to heat water up for their baths in a number 3 wash tub.
