SAILOR OF THE MONTH
Annie Verzwyvelt, a Llano native, has been named “Sailor of the month” for the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. She is 19 and attended Llano High School. She has been in the Navy for 10 months, and has been stationed in Guantanamo Bay for the last 4 months. Her parents are Cynthia Langham and Frank Verzwyvelt. Verzwyvelt has three sisters, Abbie, who currently attends Llano High, Emma and Ella Verzwyvelt. Verzwyvelt said her plans for the future is to become a registered nurse and work in a hospital back home in Llano.
