Myrtis Gerene Clawson, 95, passed away in Johnson City, Texas. Myrtis was born October 14, 1921, in Levita, to Bunyan P. Powell and Fannie B. Powell (Newman). Myrtis was born at the Powell homeplace in Levita, Texas where she grew up picking cotton and attending local schools. After graduating from the Ireland School with honors, she worked as a switchboard telephone operator in Hamilton.
