FREDERICKSBURG — On this Day of Prayer, the Day the Bible says, “God rested.” Americans did not have time to pray, and the Japanese did not rest. It was tragic beyond comprehension. It was a horrific shock. The U.S.S. Arizona, Oklahoma, California, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Tennessee: names of these states and others were on ships and lined up on an island that would become — but was not yet — a state, itself.
