Harlingen man drowns in Lake LBJ near Sunrise Beach
A Harlingen man died Tuesday, Aug. 9, while swimming in Lake LBJ. The Sunrise Beach Police Department reported that the body of William Thornton Jr., 74, was found Wednesday, Aug. 10, after he disappeared while swimming in the lake. At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 9, a call came into the Llano County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a man who was swimming off a boat.
