On May 28, 2016 this earth lost an angel and heaven gained one. Petrus “Pete” Bolkenstyn was born February 8, 1935 to Johannes Bolkenstyn and Gertrud Kurten Bolkenstyn in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Being a young holocaust survivor he recalled later he and his friends pulling nails from the many bridges which connected Amsterdam so the Nazis crossing by horse would fall into the canals.
