JOHNSON CITY—The visit here for a tournament, March 4-5, turned out better than the opening game on the new diamond—more on that later. The softball Jackets played the host school in the opener and lost 8-5. Sydney Hicks drove in two runs with a single, and Kendall Wenzel stroked a two-run homer. Catcher Kamri Thompson threw out a runner going to third and another one attempting to steal second.
