No doubt when the young men from Llano County who traveled to Camp Terry near Austin in April, 1862 to enlist as soldiers in the 17th Texas Infantry, Co. E, under Captain Seth Mabry, the boys felt engagements in skirmishes and battles would soon follow once their training period was completed.
