AUSTIN—Indulge me on this one. The exciting headline could be, “How I Spent My Weekend,” but as you saw I thought of something “so much” better. I went to the California-Texas game, September 19, because Steve Kroner, a man with whom I worked in Northern California for 16 years, came to town with eight or 10 of his friends to see their Cal Bears face the Longhorns. They enjoyed barbecue at Salt Lick and Stubbs on the Wednesday and Thursday nights before the game.
