Prelude To Valley Spring-Field Creek
Llano County had no white men residing within its boundaries prior to 1847 when a small group of German immigrants left Fredericksburg and located along the western part of the Llano River near what became the Llano-Mason County line. When Anglo settlers began crossing to the western side of the Colorado River by 1852, Llano County was on its way to being officially created.
