Rabies is a problem in Central Texas but there are ways to prevent and control the disease. Llano County is not immune from the problem by a long shot, in fact, Llano is ranked one of the highest in the state for rabies. There have been three recent cases in the months of Feb-April that have resulted in multiple human exposure and post-exposure rabies treatment. A shocking statistic, even though rabies deaths in America are rare, worldwide someone dies of rabies every ten minutes.
