Llano County’s Longest Serving Elected Official
"What do you have in common with George Washington and Abraham Lincoln?" That's the question I asked Fred L. Thompson. "We're all surveyors!" And they were all elected to office. Fred Thompson at 75 years of age is the longest serving elected official of Llano County. "I believe so," he said. He came here in 1975 and was appointed to fill an unexpired term in "about 1976."
