Unemployment rate up in region
Unemployment rates are up throughout the region, including in Blanco County. Blanco County unemployment rose from 3.4 percent in May to 4.1 percent in June according to figures released by the Texas Workforce Commission. Even though the county’s unemployment rate went up 0.7 percent, it still leads the nine-county Rural Capital Area of Central Texas region. The unemployment rate in the region rose from 4.3 percent in May to 4.9 percent in June.
