Watson Honored by Blanco County Commissioners for Service in WWII
Hye native Porter Watson was honored by the Blanco County Commissioners Court Tuesday for his dedication and service to his country, his family, and his community. 95-year-old Watson served in the U.S. Army Infantry June 27, 1944 through April 19, 1946, mainly in the Pacific theater on the Philippine islands of Leyte, Panay, and Mindanao, plus a few months after wartime in Korea.
