Burn Bans Explained
At each Blanco County Commissioner Court meeting, held twice monthly, there is a standing agenda item to consider a burn ban. According to Commissioner Paul Granberg, there are three main considerations for enacting a county-wide burn ban. “The most obvious is common sense,” Granberg said. “We look at existing weather conditions, the forecast, moisture and humidity levels.” “We also take into account the advice of all our local fire chiefs,” he said.
