Boyer Writes Best Essay on Father of Texas

Each year the Blanco County Pioneers Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas sponsors a Texas History Essay contest for fourth grade students. This year’s topic was “Stephen F. Austin”. The essay written by Lauryn Boyer of LBJ Elementary School in Johnson City took first place honors in Blanco County and also won District honors.
