Volunteers Bring Christmas Home to Columbus
Blaine Schwartz, left, and Dave Hamm worked not just on the floor but in it as they replaced floodwater-buckled floorboards in a home in Columbus last week. Local fundraising for materials and outside volunteers workers are getting homes habitable again without relief money.
“The spirit of Christmas,” read their mission-trip t-shirts, and they were in Columbus the week between Christmas and New Year to repair homes flooded by Hurricane Harvey.
