Escondido Golf & Lake Club to host inaugural tournament in memory of Jess Claiborne
Jess Claiborne often shared his love of golf with his family and was a coach and cheerleader to his talented grandson Jackson Bade who frequently competes in American Junior Golf Association tournaments. On a trip last year, they posed for a “team” photo: (from left) Jessica Claiborne Bade, Jackson Bade, Carolyn Claiborne, Jess Claiborne and Randy Bade. The newly created Jess Claiborne Junior Golf Foundation hopes to give other kids and families similar experiences.
His dream was to become a PGA Tour Professional and he almost made it – only one stroke out each of the two years he competed for a spot during Qualifying School.
