Shred Papers & Dispose of Expired Rx
(From left) Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance Managing Directors Mike Brittain and Francie Dix went over last minute details with Condor Document Services assistant Tanner Wilbanks and owner Casey Moss before last year's Spring Shred Day. This year, Spring Shred Day takes place on Monday afternoon, May 11, at the Ace Hardware storage lot.

The Annual Spring Shred day will be held Monday, May 11 from 2 until 4 p.m. The Condor shredding truck will be parked next to Ace Hardware in the Ace Storage lot.

Many Horseshoe Bay area residents have had a little extra time at home to locate and collect old bank documents and are eager to have them safely destroyed. The Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance is grateful to Condor Document Service for making their professional service available to our community. All that is asked is that a donation of $10 per box be offered. Mike Brittain, managing director of the HSBBA, said, “The proceeds help fund future community services and events benefiting area residents. As in previous years, we will also be accepting expired prescriptions, and unused pills to be destroyed by Bay Pharmacy. Empty containers can also be dropped off to be safely recycled.”

Shred Day sponsors this year include Ace Hardware, Condor Document Services, Value Bank, and Bay Pharmacy. Don’t miss this opportunity to protect yourself against identity theft. 100% of the shredded paper is recycled! But please, no metal, plastic or spiral bound notebooks.

Added safety protocols have been put in place. Residents will be asked to remain in their cars. Volunteers will be on hand to direct where to park and will help move all boxes and bags from cars to the containers for shredding. HSBBA volunteers and board strongly recommend residents wear masks. Volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves, and will use hand sanitizer throughout the day. All donations (including checks, cash and credit card options) will be handled by Francie Dix and Mike Brittain once paper has been transferred into the shredder.

Shred Day has been a popular service to HSB area residents. An average of approximately 3,000 pounds of paper are recycled during each spring and fall Shred Day.
