Cultural Enrichment Society Expands it's Board
Bruce Baccus, Michelle Herring and Dana Rushing have joined Horseshoe Bay's Cultural Enrichment Society Board of Directors

The Horseshoe Bay Cultural Enrichment Society has expanded its Board of Directors with the addition of Bruce Baccus, Michelle Herring, and Dana Rushing to bring its governing body to a total of 10 Board members.

“The Cultural Enrichment Society’s commitment to champion Horseshoe Bay as a cultural destination demands two essential ingredients: high-quality programming and a fully engaged Board of Directors,” said Mike Maine, Board President. “Bruce Baccus, Michelle Herring and Dana Rushing bring added strengths and skills to a Board dedicated to making our vision of delivering world-class entertainment a reality. We are proud to have them as partners as we strive to connect Hill Country audiences to shared experiences of artistic expression and lifelong discovery.”

Baccus spent his 40+ year career banking private and public agriculture, food and agribusiness clients, and managing various U.S. offices and businesses along with Canada’s corporate banking branch office and business for a foreign bank. He also served on several councils and committees for university and industry affiliated colleges and groups. Baccus currently serves as Treasurer the HSB Property Owners' Association Board of Directors. Baccus and his wife Mary have lived in HSB since 2013.

Herring has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University and is a 25 year marketing and corporate communications veteran serving the Fortune 500 global marketplace. Her executive responsibilities have included management of corporate identity, messaging, and positioning, as well as global marketing and communications, public relations, internet and advertising. Herring has served on the boards of various volunteer organizations in the Houston area, Singapore and Tokyo and is currently on the Steering Committee for Kindred Sisters in HSB. Herring and her husband, Brooks, are enjoying full time life in HSB after being part-time residents for more than a decade while living as expats in Asia for 11 years.

Rushing fulfilled a dream by moving to HSB three years ago following her retirement from hospital management. She was elected to the HSB POA Board of Directors two years ago and also serves on the Highland Lakes Texas Exes Chapter Board as Communications Chair. Additionally, Rushing is a board member of Services of Hope, an organization dedicated to providing educational services to disadvantaged children in Dallas. She began volunteering for the Cultural Enrichment Society last year in various capacities and has loved each and every performance. Rushing is a frequent contributor to The Beacon and The Highlander.

The HSB Cultural Enrichment Society is a 501(c) (3) non-profit group offering culturally rich entertainment in music, the arts and education designed to enliven Hill Country audiences. Programming during its two previous seasons has included informative and educational lectures on wide-ranging topics and musical performances ranging from jazz and country to string quartets, soloists and pianists.

The Cultural Enrichment Society’s 2020 season kicks off on Sunday, February 9 with a performance by Johnny Nicholas, Kelley Mickwee and Bill Small. The concert featuring their rich mix of musical elements is at 4:30 pm at Quail Point Lodge. Log onto hsbenrichment.org to buy advanced tickets and learn more about upcoming performances in 2020.
