Great hunting opportunities abound in and around Goldthwaite. November 2, the first Saturday in November, is the statewide start to White Tail deer rifle season.
The Goldthwaite Area Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Hunter Appreciation Chili Luncheon at the Goldthwaite Pavilion located in downtown Goldthwaite adjacent to the Texas Botanical Gardens. Hunters can take a break from hunting and enjoy a bowl of chili, live music, silent auction and free beverages. There will also be drawings for rifles and other prizes.
Start your Christmas shopping at the Mills County Artisan Guild. Their Holiday Bazaar will be held November 23 from 10am-3pm at the Civic Center at 1903 Cline Street. You’ll find woodcrafts, soaps and lotions, metal art, fabric creations, home decor, jams and jellies, fresh roasted coffee, food vendors, quilts, furniture and antiques. There is no admission charge and door prizes will be given away.
The first Saturday in December is the annual parade of lights, with floats, cars and a visit by Santa. The parade starts at sunset and travels thru the center of town.
