FALL IS HERE IN MASON, TEXAS

Fall is here in Mason, Texas! Temperatures are starting to drop and the “Gem of the Hill Country” is kicking off its season with wine and hunting. Over the past month, our local vineyards and wineries have been preparing the fruits of their labor, with stained fingers and big smiles. It is going to be a great season, and what better way to celebrate than introducing a new tasting room! Parr Tasting Room will be opening their doors this fall, a fabulous addition to Mason’s many wineries and vineyards.

If wine is not your thing, not to worry! Mason may be the wettest dry county in Texas, so stop by one of the membership clubs located at Lea Lou Co-Op and Willow Creek Café & Club. Both are great places to relax, eat, and grab a drink. Both will be full of hunters this season, but Mason is not limited to just deer hunting! There are great opportunities to hunt for antiques and in boutiques on the town square. Shopping, restaurants, clubs, wineries, and hunting- sounds like there is a little of everything in Mason, Texas!

Please do not forget our many B&Bs throughout town during your wine tasting weekend or hunting trip. Each are guaranteed to provide a unique experience that further creates a perfect small-town getaway! Mason has many events throughout the year, so let us help plan your next vacation or day trip. Two big weekends coming up are the Fall Arts Festival and Halloween Pub Crawl, as well as the Mason County Chamber of Commerce Wild Game Dinner!

The Fall Arts Festival will be Saturday, October 26th from 11:00 AM- 4:00 PM, featuring artists and crafters from all over the Texas Hill Country setting up around Mason’s Historic Square. If you would like to participate as an artist, please contact Lisa at The Thing Is Boutique, 325-347-0230. That same evening, Saturday, October 26th, Mason will have its annual Halloween Pub Crawl! Starting with Hallowine, a FREE winetasting at Sandstone Cellars, followed by LIVE MUSIC at Lea Lou Co-Op, and a COSTUME CONTEST at Willow Creek Café & Club!

Dig out your favorite piece of camouflage and join us Saturday, November 9th for the Mason County Chamber of Commerce Wild Game Dinner! This is a fantastic celebration of hunting season, which plays an important economic role within the Mason community. Eat a fantastic dinner of BBQ with all the fixings and exotics meats, catered by Cooper’s Original Pit BBQ and the Castell General Store. We will be raffling away 40+ guns, a limited edition 2019 Kawasaki Mule, and much more! This is also the first year the Wounded Patriot Program will be involved, auctioning off a once in lifetime hunt for a truly amazing cause. Please join us for one of Mason’s most popular events and have fun this hunting season!
