Canyon Lake

In my opinion, the Guadalupe River and Canyon Lake are the crown jewels of the Texas Hill Country. These are places that bring a sense of peace and well-being to all who live here, as well as all who visit. These are places where memories are made with family and friends. These are places to observe, develop and enhance an appreciation of nature. These are places where strangers can become friends, and friends become family.

You’ve heard the saying, it’s all about “location, location, location.” Being centrally located an hour’s drive between San Antonio and Austin, Canyon Lake is certainly no exception to this statement. In the summer, with the Guadalupe River flowing in and out of Canyon Lake, this area has always been known as the summer “Water Recreation Capital of Texas.” But, we are not just a summer destination! Canyon Lake and the Guadalupe River provide year-round entertainment. Did you know that the Guadalupe River is recognized as one of the top 100 trout streams in America, and the southernmost trout stream in the United States? Campers, hikers and bikers will find a wealth of outdoor options any time of the year. If big adventure is on your agenda, visitors have their choice of scenic hiking/biking trails, horseback riding, primitive and RV campsites, and abundant wildlife viewing to enjoy. We want you to know that we have all the accommodations you need, from budget-priced to luxurious.

With all its natural beauty, historic places and unique people, we are a place to put on your travel destination list for sure, so plan your trip to the “Water Recreation Capital of Texas” anytime of the year and let us show you “our” Canyon Lake and the Guadalupe River. You can experience for yourself, what so many have already discovered, our beautiful, treasured jewel.
