Llano Starry Starry Nights

Each year, volunteers work countless hours preparing for one of the Texas Hill Country’s most delightful lighted Christmas parks, located in the heart of the Deer Capital of the World, Llano.

This year, despite heavy flooding, the Starry Starry Nights crew created a wonderland of spectacular lights and beautiful displays. Working tirelessly from the time the waters receded until the switch was flipped on November 23, the volunteers have once again managed to top themselves.

Located in the center of Llano, Starry Starry Nights is featured in Badu Park, which lies next to the Llano River. From the historic Roy Inks Bridge, visitors can delight themselves with a full view of the lighted park, including the way the river provides a brilliant mirrored reflection of the display.

Starry Starry Nights will be open every evening from 6pm-9pm until New Year’s Eve. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, Santa will also be present at Badu from 6pm-8pm until December 22. Come and whisper your Christmas wishes in his ear!

Bring the family and enjoy a stroll through a winter wonderland through the twinkling arches and along the lighted walkway.

Sip hot chocolate and revel in the whimsical and joyful displays.

At the end of your journey, roast marshmallows over an open fire and make yourself a s’mores treat, creating family memories to last a lifetime.

Starry Starry Nights needs to be at the top of your Christmas light-seeing list!

Kicking off December, Llano will host the annual Reindeer 5K Run across the Roy Inks Bridge, over the Llano River. Join the Woman’s Culture Club for their annual Holiday Home Tour and end the day on the Llano Square for the popular Sip & Stroll.

At 6pm, the Llano Lighted Christmas Parade will travel down Ford Street and around the Llano County Courthouse.

Once again, Llano with host SNOW DAY!

On December 8, from 1pm-9pm, kids of all ages will be able to experience the joy of snow sledding at Badu Park. Wristbands will be required for riders. No need to bring a sled - they will be provided.

Llano is near the heartland of Texas making it a great escape from the big cities. It is just 75 miles West of Austin and 2 hours from San Antonio. For a fun weekend, Dallas, Houston and Midland are all close enough to make a memorable Christmas stay in this charming town in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

With unique places to shop, family owned restaurants to dine at, and some of the most gorgeous state parks in Texas, Llano is well worth the drive.
