COME FOR THE HISTORY STAY FOR THE FUN!

Ever wonder about life on the Texas frontier? Then come out to McCulloch County Early Days at Richards Park in Brady, Texas, on April 14 where living historians will help you make personal connections with early Texas. Travel through the rustic setting and visit with frontiersmen, fort soldiers, pioneer families, craft workers, and townspeople as they depict the daily challenges and rewards of frontier life. Perhaps you’ll stop and watch a farrier shoeing horses, a beekeeper explaining the secrets of his live hive, spinners, quilters, and other needleworkers making their crafts look easy, or children competing in old-fashioned games. You may spend some time listening to the musical entertainment, admiring top-notch weapons and artifacts collections, sampling the food vendors’ fair-quality food, or placing a bid on a silent-auction item. Perhaps you will be drawn to buy hand-made crafts and period objects. Whatever your choices, you will leave Early Days with a new understanding of Texas’ frontier past.

*Admission by Donation* (Made possible in part by a grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate for the National Endowment for the Humanities) *Hosted by McCulloch County Historical Commission (325-597-4123 for more information)*
