On Saturday May 12th, 2018 the New Braunfels Masonic Lodge 1109 and Historical Museum and Library Foundation is hosting a “Mothers Day $10K Giveaway and 15th Annual BBQ Fundraiser”.

This is a family event from 11am until 4pm. Tickets are $30 for one or 4 for $100 and include a BBQ plate, entry into the giveaway, beverages, music our car show and much, much more.

A unique aspect of the BBQ this year is we are offering other organizations that are in need of fundraising opportunities to benefit. We are donating a 20% commission of the sale of our tickets that they sell to their cause. One group profiting from this is “Team Lifesavers” from the Comal County American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. The monies raised at the BBQ are given as scholarships to graduating seniors at New Braunfels and Canyon High Schools.

Cash Stipends are also given to selected outstanding teachers from each school. The awards are available to graduates wanting to attend traditional colleges or universities and vocational or trade schools. Anyone wanting to apply should contact their guidance counselor. Hundreds of applications have been received so far this year. On May 24th, 2018 the scholarships and stipends will be presented to the selected students and teachers.
