The Kerrville Renaissance Festival returns to Kerrville for its second season on Friday through Sunday, Jan 26-28, 2018. The event is held at the River Star Arts and Events Park and inside the Hill Country Youth Event Center on Highway 27 in Kerrville. Gates open Fri and Sat 10-5, and Sun 10-4.
The Kerrville Renaissance Festival is offered by April Cory and Hal Robinson of Illusions Into Reality. During the weekend, lords and ladies, knights and knaves will stroll the grounds for three days of shopping, entertainment, stage shows, live music, games, food, and other sorts of revelry inspired by the days of the Renaissance. Guests are invited to join participants in wearing Renaissance era clothing and acting in the spirit of the festival.
Entertainers include Last Chance Forever Birds of Prey Conservancy demonstrations, The Great Rondini Escape Artist, Magical Mystical Michael, Sisters of the Dance, Cheeky Peacocks, and Marty the Juggler.
Providing live music are Lady Prudence, Coal Black Rose, The Dublin Harpers
Activities include sword fighting in Faire Haven Field, Jomsborg Vinland South (Viking group from Ingram), photo backdrops, and games such as archery, tomato tossing, and knife throwing.
Crafters decked in Renaissance garb will share yard art, henna body art, face painting, handmade hair garlands, hair braiding, works in wood, leather garments and accessories, and more.
Food choices include Funnel Cake, Cinnamon Roasted Nuts, Chocolate covered Cheeze Cake, Turkey Legs, Kettle Corn, Deep Fried Candy Bars, Deep Fried Carmel Apple, Deep Fried Oreos, and Deep Fried Pecan Pie. Pedernales Brewing Company of Fredericksburg will supply local craft beers.
