122nd Fair & Rodeo

Excitement is in the air as things are really gearing up for the upcoming 112th Annual Kendall County Fair. The Fair will be held Labor Day Weekend and will have the Queen’s Court crowning on Thursday, August 31.

The doors open at 5 pm on Friday, September 1 and there will be all day entertainment in the form of music, magic and ventriloquist acts, and all sorts of activities through Sunday, September 3.

Saturday morning will be the annual Fair Parade through downtown Boerne. This is a great chance to come out and see all the work that is put into the many parade entries and to get to visit with your family and friends.

To add to the excitement, Mr. Roy Holley of KKYX will be hosting a live radio broadcast from Ye Kendall Inn and will be featuring a lot of the history of the Fair as well as Kendall County.

The Exhibit Hall promises to be one of the biggest yet, with entries of everything from handmade items, home grown veggies and even eggs from the various backyard chickens of the county. There are many great other categories to enter, including art, photography and even apple pie baking! There are also various age groups in many of the categories to really make things fun for the entire family.

Be sure to enter as many categories as possible to join in the fun and heritage of the Fair.Each evening, visitors to the Fair will be treated to a top notch rodeo with a whole host of events. The view from the grandstands is great and the energy there has to be experienced to be believed.

The Fair Rodeo draws contestants from all over the State and is something that shouldn’t be missed.

There will also be the annual Livestock Show which will showcase everything from steers to goats, and even some fancy chicken breeds. The Livestock Show is a great opportunity for kids of all ages to get a close look at a great variety of animals that area kids have worked really hard to raise.

It may even kid some new kids interested in showing and can be a great opportunity to teach responsibility and even earn some great scholarships!Speaking of kids, there will also be a huge carnival with rides that are sure to please kids from the youngest to the oldest!

As you stroll through the carnival, you will be able to purchase a whole host of ‘carnival goodies’ that may just bring back memories of childhoods for many folks.

The carnival will be open the entire time the Fair is running, so you can be assured there will never be a dull moment.To really complete the Fair atmosphere, there will be vendors of all sorts on site all weekend.

They will have all kinds of handmade crafts, and just about every type of food that can be imagined…and maybe even a few foods that can’t be imagined until seen! There will be many unique things available and will give many folks the chance to try something new.

The Kendall County Fair strives to create a very family-friendly atmosphere where members of the community and surrounding areas can come and enjoy an ole’ fashioned good time.
