The Annual Kendall County Fair is one of the oldest Fair’s in Texas. This year will mark the 110th annual fair which will be held on Labor Day Weekend, Sept 3 through 6th in Boerne, Texas at the Fairgrounds (1307 River Road). As the 2015 President of the Kendall County Fair Association, I want to personally invite you to come out and enjoy our 4 day event. This is a great family event and fun for everyone! The KCFA has been a non-profit association for decades. Many years back we raised our non-profit status and became a 501©3 Non-Profit Association. We appreciate and thank the community for their timeless involvement, support and donations to help us bring you the best fair possible among other events throughout the year. All the support you bring helps us produce and fund this event as well as help give back to the community in the form of education, experience and scholarships for our area youth every year. This year we’re shaking things up a bit. Thursday is FAMILY NIGHT and gate admission is FREE! We will be open from 5 till midnight. The Queen’s Court Pageant starts at 6pm and the Carnival will be open! We will also have Food Vendors, Concessions and some Arts & Crafts Vendors open. Speaking of the carnival, this year we’ve contracted Happy World Shows as our carnival producer. They will be bringing the big rides everyone loves as well as lots of stuff for the kiddies too! Kids and adults alike will be thrilled to see what’s coming this year! We’re also offering a Mega Carnival Pass for $50, but must be purchased prior to the Fair. This pass allows your child or self, 4 days of UNLIMITED RIDES (Thurs through Sunday)! Pick them up on our website, Billy’s Western Wear or Riverside Market. Gate prices are another subject of interest! For the 110th fair, our gate price is $10 ALL DAY LONG, Friday through Sunday! No high prices this year! This gets you into the grounds for anything you wish to enjoy! 10 and under are FREE! Sunday is also military, veteran and senior day for half price admission with proper ID. Friday, we will open the gates at 5pm. We have great entertainment under the pavilion all weekend long. Entertainment includes Josh Peek, Gabe Garcia Band, Mario Flores & the Soda Creek Band, Bret Mullins, The Spazmatics, The Grooves, and Cameran Nelson. Our BBQ Cook-off contestants will be checking in. Arts & Crafts vendors will be set up outside and in the Old Dance Hall. Livestock Show contestants will also be checking in on Friday. The Exhibit hall will be open to spectators looking to check out all the great things submitted for this year’s judging! Saturday and Sunday, gates open at 10am. On Saturday, we have the Fair parade in downtown Boerne starting at 10am also. Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Bad Company Rodeo will be producing this year’s Rodeo, which is an Open Rodeo. Come early and sign your child up for Muttin’ Busting, which is a part of the pre-show starting at 7:30pm in the arena and rodeo will follow. Muttin’ Busting sign up starts at 6pm behind the rodeo announcer stand. Sunday will be full of fun with a Bull Riding Blowout!! This is going to be an exciting Rodeo event you won’t want to miss! The Livestock Show will be going on Saturday and Sunday throughout the morning and early afternoon. All these kids put their hearts into raising quality livestock. It takes countless hours of hard work, planning, and exercising these animals so they are the quality animal judges are looking for! This year we will be having steers and breeding heifers, lamb and goats. This year, we are also adding a new show that is an up and coming event for our agricultural enthusiasts! It’s the live poultry show! You should come out and see these amazing animals! Saturday also holds a washer pitching tournament starting around 1pm and our BBQ Cook-off judging. Judging starts at noon and YOU can be a judge of the great BBQ these contestants have created! They are some of the best cooks in the STATE! It is lots of fun to judge the event if you’ve never had the opportunity. Now’s your chance! We’ll be judging Brisket, Ribs and Chicken as well as Beans and early Saturday morning we’ll be judging Bloody Mary’s! Bloody Mary judging starts at 10am. Come on out and sign up to help judge! Here’s some things you may not know about our grounds or organization. We have a horse stable to board horses. We also rent the halls and or grounds to the community for various events throughout the year, including weddings, sales, company parties, etc. Every Wednesday night we host a team roping practice night – feel free to come on out and join the practice! No stress – it’s good for ALL ages! We love watching and helping those learning all the way to the experienced roper! Every year we also host a Barrel Racing Series which usually starts around March. Soon after the Fair, we also host our very own Oma’s Christmas Arts & Crafts Fair. This market is unique in that it is only finely hand-crafted merchandise allowed. If you’re looking for that unique gift for your loved ones – this is the place to be the first weekend in December. Community students that participate in our events are also eligible for scholarships that we give out annually! Get your kids involved! We hope you come out and enjoy this year’s fair. We’ve tried to make it more affordable for you to participate and make it a family event! This is your fair! Embrace some good old-fashioned fun and celebrate with us! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone that helps make this possible! We look forward to you joining us this year – LET THE FUN BEGIN!
